A Cry for Hope: Spreading God’s Love in Paraguay

Writer: Eddie BritoEddie Brito

Dear brothers and friends,

It is with immense joy and gratitude to God that we want to share a bit of our recent missionary trip to the city of Coronel Oviedo, Paraguay. It was a profoundly transformative experience, where we saw the Lord’s hand sustaining us through challenges and pouring out His blessings upon us.

Your generosity has been incredible, and we thank God for each of you who has supported this mission in prayer, encouragement, and provision.

Challenges and Local Reality

During this mission, we were confronted with various difficulties, especially while working with the indigenous community, which faces deep shortages, particularly in the educational area. Children are the most affected due to the lack of adequate infrastructure for teaching and development. Moreover, the scarcity of basic resources further exacerbates this situation.

However, even amid these limitations, we witnessed divine providence by providing food and care to some children who are part of a project maintained by local missionaries. Seeing the joy on their faces was a living testimony of how small acts of love, inspired by the love of Christ, can bring hope and renewal to this new generation.

Opportunities and the Church in Paraguay

We were deeply moved by the faith and willingness of Paraguayan Christians to serve the Lord, even while facing so many needs. Paraguay, with about 8 million inhabitants, has approximately 23% of its population made up of indigenous peoples. Within this context, the evangelical church is still a minority, as around 90% of the population identifies as Catholic.

Many communities have yet to hear the gospel and have no church or Christian witness in their region. This reality highlights the urgency of missionary work, especially among indigenous peoples and in less-reached areas. The call for workers to the Lord’s harvest is increasingly evident.

Our Plea and Invitation

Our desire goes far beyond providing physical nourishment – we want to be instruments in God’s hands to bring spiritual, educational, and structural support to these communities. We know that the barriers are many, but we believe that the One who called us is faithful to complete the work. Therefore, we pray that the Lord raises up more people who understand the importance of this missionary work and are willing to get involved.

If you feel in your heart the desire to join us in this mission, we invite you to pray and, if possible, support this cause financially. Every contribution, no matter how small it may seem, can make a great difference in the lives of these communities and be a channel of God’s blessings.

May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be upon each of you abundantly!

With gratitude and love in Christ,
